Unexpected increase shows-in disk usage

Hello,
I am on VPS using CyberPanel with OpenLiteSpeed, where my actual website contents, databases etc. are below 50% of total disk space allotted on my VPS but now my “disk usage” shows unexpected increase up-to 91% and continuously increasing.
I am unable to figure-out why this happened and need help to figure-out it and fix the issue due to this happened.
I am appreciating for any help regarding fixing of this issue.
Please see it here: Pasteboard - Uploaded Image

Thanks

And how we can help if we dont know what is using so much disk space? THats a bit of to less information to help out in anyway.

Hello @Pimmal
I have made editing in “Postfix” and “Spamassassin” as the information given at here:

After making changes in the files as per the info given; this issue comes and my “disk usage” shows unexpected increase and continuously increasing.
If any more info required to fix it then I am ready to shown at here.
Thanks

Hello,
I have made editing in /etc/crontab and take it back on previous configuration without " Making a Cron Job to Automate Spam Definition Updates" and removed:
00 02 * * * root /bin/sa-update && /sbin/service spamassassin restart
from /etc/crontab
as per the info given at here: Install SpamAssassin and Stop Email Spam on CyberPanel! - #2 by adzanmuchamad - Blog Posts - CyberPanel Community

After removing this; and executing this command:
systemctl restart crond.service

The unexpected increase in disk usage stopped now.
From the present situation it shows that this issue comes from the “Making a Cron Job to Automate Spam Definition Updates”.
Now, I need help to clean my disk space that’s occupied during the execution of “Cron Job” for automatic spamassassin spam definition updates.
Please let me know how can I do it; I am appreciating for any help to clean my disk usage from unnecessarily space occupied.

Thanks

I need help and appreciate for kind help to fix this issue.

Thanks

check that your /etc/resolv.conf has resolvers. Should see something like

[root@server ~]# cat /etc/resolv.conf
nameserver 8.8.8.8
nameserver 8.8.4.4

Hello ianw5555,
Yes, my /etc/resolv.conf has resolvers and it is as:
options timeout:1 attempts:1
nameserver 153.92.2.25
nameserver 2a02:4780::25
nameserver 9.9.9.9

Thanks

I suggest you change them to google 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 nameservers, then try again.

Hello ianw5555,
One more thing I have noticed that I am able to send emails ([email protected]) to Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail etc. and that mails goes to Inboxes of Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail etc. but when I can send emails from Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail etc. then I can’t receive emails ([email protected]).

Thanks

Hello @ianw5555,
After making changes; and running the update command:
yum update -y
the same error again comes.

Thanks

Contact your host about this

Hello @ianw5555,
Due to some misconfiguration in Postfix (main.cf, master.cf), Dovecot, and in Spamassassin; an unexpected increase shows in disk usage.
At present I have stopped Postfix, Dovecot and Spamassassin services or simply email services because I need first to clear cached data done by these Daemon’s, but I don’t know how can I do it?
Please help me and direct me to the right way through which I can successfully cleared my unnecessary disk space due to Postfix, Dovecot and Spamassassin cached data.
I am appreciating for the help to do it.

Thanks

I´m a bit confused, you complain about full hdd and now i see only update things?

Can you say were or on which folder you get full of disk?

Cyberpanel has many issues in Centos 7, myself I switched to Ubuntu. The main reason is that the cp install script doesn’t add the official yum repos for the packages it needs except for litespeed. Therefore, packages like postfix/dovecot/docker etc are loaded from the default centos/epel repo which is seriously outdated.

My 2 cents are: unless you use Cloudlinux or really know your way around manually upgrading all those 3rd party packages, switch to Ubuntu. This should be in bold red announcement box on forums/documentation/github.

Hello @usmannasir @CyberPanel
After investigating the increase in disk fill-up; mailscanner comes in-front that shows unexpected size.
Please take a look at here:
[root@server ~]# du -sh /var/lib/mysql/*
166M /var/lib/mysql/abc_phpn1
1.3G /var/lib/mysql/abc_stck1
16K /var/lib/mysql/aria_log.00000001
4.0K /var/lib/mysql/aria_log_control
9.0M /var/lib/mysql/cyberpanel
42M /var/lib/mysql/abc_c5
76M /var/lib/mysql/ibdata1
48M /var/lib/mysql/ib_logfile0

4.0K /var/lib/mysql/abc.pid
42M /var/lib/mysql/abc_concrete
542M /var/lib/mysql/abc_phplist
12G /var/lib/mysql/mailscanner
0 /var/lib/mysql/multi-master.info
13M /var/lib/mysql/mysql
0 /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock
8.0K /var/lib/mysql/performance_schema
42M /var/lib/mysql/abcd_concrete

24K /var/lib/mysql/tc.log
8.0K /var/lib/mysql/test
4.0K /var/lib/mysql/vps.server.local.err
[root@server ~]#

Now, how can I disable mailscanner functionality or uninstall completely from my server.

Thanks

Hello @usmannasir @CyberPanel
An optional I need help for disabling Postfix header_checks
