Authentication failed in mail service

I created an email account but is not authenticating with rainloop, nor outlook.

log error.

I used correct credentials.

Yeah this happens from time to time, this is a very sensitive issue with people on this forum so I’m not going to write too much, you can try it

Last time I mentioned about using the official dovecot repo, people went absolutely crazy here.

Well, thank you. I’ll follow these steps.

I found an error:
E: Malformed entry 1 in list file /etc/apt/sources.list.d/dovecot.list (URI parse)

Oh sorry, I don’t want to help further ask @Dreamer he’s the master.

Good luck

You gotta get most lovely and helpful member badge for this forum…

Eh, I have to do everything…

[deep breath, no joking]

Yeah you don’t add the number on the line, I know, even the people in the original thread made that mistake and posted hilarious screenshots about it, I laughed too. Think David, you can do this, we have faith in you, there’s only 1 line in a 1 line config.

You can use the guide at the official dovecot repo : Ubuntu packages it’s 1 line config, you can do this. 1 line. NO WEIRD NUMBER.

Try to make it work because it’s taboo here to write about the official dovecot repo. Might be something else, so before @Master3395 show up and tell us we can’t talk about the official dovecot repo and nothing works, and blablabla, we need to move on. You might actually have a valid new problem we haven’t solved tons of time before and you just refused to search for.

@entoutcas just chill little bit…

what is the results of checktls.com

Going from post to post, to disrespecting people isn’t something you should do.
I never said not to look at dovocot’s own repo.

@DavidAlberto If you installed an unsupported Os, it might cause issues, someone installed ubuntu 18, and got problems, re-installed ubuntu 20, and fixed the problem.

An easier way to fix email issues is to use the CyberPanel Cloud debugger.

Also, the latest stable version of CyberPanel (2.3.2) uses SnappyMail.
So if you still have rainloop, try upgrading CyberPanel, to get SnappyMail.
Doing this in SSH:

sh <(curl https://raw.githubusercontent.com/usmannasir/cyberpanel/stable/preUpgrade.sh || wget -O - https://raw.githubusercontent.com/usmannasir/cyberpanel/stable/preUpgrade.sh)

Then the URL of rainloop changes from

https://IP:Port/rainloop/

to

https://IP:Port/snappymail/

If you want to use outlook on phones or other applications, follow the tutorial by usman below.
