Hello,

Today I tried to log into CyberPanel and I see an ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED. I tried flushing DNS cache and turning on/off VPN but that didn’t help. Then in a terminal I tried to SSH to my server and that gives a “Connection refused” error. The only good news is I can still log into OpenLiteSpeed web admin console.

I’ve searched the forums, but I can’t see how I should proceed. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you for the reply! I did read that earlier, and it indicates a possible (or probable) cause, but I’m not sure about the best path forward. Here’s what I’m thinking, but I have no idea if this is a reasonable approach.

  1. Restore to an earlier droplet.
  2. Quickly update CyberPanel
  3. Change passwords, make sure 2FA is enabled
  4. Change the SSH port and disable root login
  5. Upgrade the firewall?
  6. Install some sort of malware prevention?

I’m not an expert at this, so any additional insights would help. Thanks!

  1. Block access to Port 8090 for anyone except your own IP
