SSL renewed but LiteSpeed isn't restarting

I am having an issue with the SSL Cert renewal. It appears as though the server goes out to get a new cert from LetsEncrypt as expected but it seems like LiteSpeed isn’t restarting so the server continues to use the expired cert until I manually restart the OLS server. I am currently running CyberPanel v2.1.1.

After the SSL it has to happen automatically but if it is not can you please share logs with us.

Cyberpanel 2.1.1 is older and I suggest you to upgrade to the latest cyberpanel version where many bugs have been fixed already.

Do you know if that specific bug has been fixed in 2.1.2? Not exactly something I can test until it is too late. Also, after doing the update do I need to force a renew or something to prevent future issues with the sites?

Actually server restart will happen automatically and there wasn’t any such bugs in either older version or newer. Maybe something got wrong with your vps setup particularly.

You need to check your logs and see information related to this to know what is actually going wrong.

I have no idea how it could be something with my VPS. It was set up fresh and CyberPanel was the only thing installed by following https://community.cyberpanel.net/docs?category=9&topic=82. From there I set up a few sites and everything works fine other than the fact that the server doesn’t seem to be restarting after getting a new cert from LetEncrypt. I just can’t imagine how following the guide exactly and doing nothing but setting up a few sites could cause the issue. That being said, can you tell me what logs I should be looking in so I can try to track down this problem? Thank you for any help you can give. I really can’t have all my sites giving SSL warnings if I don’t remember to manually boot my OLS.

Also, one side note, it looks like I am not the only one that has talked about issues like this so either we are all doing the same wrong thing or there is a bug.

But I heard this issue for the first time since March 2021 (this is the period I have started using cyberpanel).

Can you let me know what VPS provider are you using and how you installed the OS in it. The OS version and also the VPS config if any.

Sometimes the OS images bundled by hosting provider has issues. Like for example, Alibaba cloud hosting provided Ubuntu OS image has many issues in it.

Try with some other hosting provider and setup the sites there and see if you could reproduce the same issue there too. If it is having the same issue there too, then it needs to be looked upon as a potential bug.

Sorry, this was an image on Digital Ocean called CyberPanel 2.1.1 on Ubuntu 20.04. Unlike my other servers in which I just install CyberPanel by following 01 - Installing CyberPanel - Docs - CyberPanel Community this specific server I used one of those pre-packaged images.

Pre-packaged images may sometimes have issues. Also pre-package images are not updated very often.

I can understand that but who would I talk to about resolving this issue or how best should I proceed with troubleshooting this? You mentioned above to check my logs but which logs and what might I be looking for?

You mentioned that you have other servers too where you have installed cyberpanel using the install code provided here. Does this issue happens with those server too? Please let us know.

Login to cyberpanel and under logs menu you will find multiple category logs like cyberpanel main logs, access logs, modsec logs, email logs

You can check cyberpanel main logs and error logs

Below if the last 50 lines from the error log. Not really sure what all this means. Hopefully you can make better sense of it. lol Thank you again for the help.

Are you using Litespeed enterprise license or Openlitespeed?

On this specific server, I am using OpenLiteSpeed with CyberPanel. I do have servers running LS Enterprise. Why do you ask?
