Missing PTR records for email accounts?

I have email setup with rainloop, however, it does not deliver to gmail accounts. I get a Undelivered Mail Returned to Sender that tells me:

The IP address sending this message
does not 550-5.7.25 have a PTR record setup, or the corresponding forward
DNS entry does 550-5.7.25 not point to the sending IP. As a policy, Gmail
does not accept 550-5.7.25 messages from IPs with missing PTR records.

How do I add a PTR record exactly so this issue can be fixed for gmail? Can someone please show examples with a good walkthrough on how to accomplish this. Thank you in advance.

Set your reverse DNS on your VPS provider dashboard

you can set 1 host for rdns and i done that. what about when you have more than 1 domains with a shared ip?

then you share the smtp server, or get more IP.

does sharing smtp causing issues like above with gmail.?

not if that’s their mx server, or is allowed as an mx server.

You know, if you have those kind of question, you can look into SMTP relay providers, like sendgrid, mailgun, etc.

ok thank you very much!
