After the recent problems with cyberpanel, I moved my sites to another control panel, I saw some comments to solve the problem but they were technical (need to deal with commands), since I am not an expert in these things, for me the best way to secure my sites is to make daily backups, I want to ask now can I go back to cyberpanel?? Because I saw in some comments that some people are still facing high CPU usage problem, if I install the new cyberpanel version from zero after reseting my vps will I face this problem?
For what it’s worth, I reinstalled os and latest cyberpanel on my vps’s and restored website backup and so far it has been fine. So a fresh install, rather than restoring a server image, will give you a clean system. I have added firewall rules to only allow cyberpanel or litespeed access by my static IP. Obviously use a new ssh password or key and recommend making the ssh a non standard port number. This compromise was via the cyberpanel ui port so locking it to your IP is a good safety measure for the future. Also as others have suggested you could disable CP via CLI and just run it when required which is rarely in most cases. The websites and Cron jobs all continue to run.
As you suggest, it is good practice to daily backup your websites/databases to multiple external locations. One of the things I do like about CP, and why I still use it, is that restoring a website backup is so quick and easy compared to a manual restore on some other panels.
