After the zero-day exploit on CyberPanel on October 27, 2024, I was surprised that it affected my small private website. I was lucky in misfortune and was able to reconstruct my site after a few days. I only had a cheat sheet from a previous migration from another server, but that was enough. As I have now gained experience in hardening virtual private servers, I have taken the trouble to write down my experiences. Maybe it will help some of you to harden your system, prepare a backup or even migrate your CyberPanel completely.
