"Done with CyberPanel " Too Many Installation Failures!

I’ve officially reached my limit with CyberPanel. I tried installing version 2.4.4 on Ubuntu, and the experience has been a nightmare from start to finish. The installer fails at multiple points—sometimes due to missing dependencies. But this is just the tip of the iceberg.

After browsing forums and other user reports, it seems my experience isn’t unique. Here’s a summary of the recurring problems people face with CyberPanel:

Installation & dependency errors – The installer often fails due to missing packages, permission issues, or OS version incompatibilities. Many users spend hours just trying to get a basic installation working.

Panel freezes and crashes – Some report the panel freezing completely every week or two, taking websites and SSH access down with it.

Email server issues – Sending and receiving emails can be unreliable. TLS/STARTTLS errors are common, and the mail system often fails after updates.

Broken features after updates – WordPress auto-installer, backups, and other key functionalities sometimes break after recent updates, leaving users to fix things themselves.

Security concerns – There have been reports of code-level vulnerabilities that could put servers at risk.

I’ve wasted countless hours fighting errors, broken features, and insufficient documentation/support. CyberPanel is supposed to simplify server management, but in reality, it has been a source of endless frustration.

I’m done. I’m moving to alternatives that just work reliably, without constant troubleshooting. If you’re considering CyberPanel, be prepared: you might spend more time fixing the panel than managing your server.

Bruh I feel you and I have been watching it myself.
For my sanity, I have locked down cyberpanel from public access (Since the major security breach) and used a whitelisting method for gaining access.

Secondly I do not update Cyberpanel often again (probably like once a month now, or every two months) because as you rightfully said, a lot breaks on updates and we have to fix ourselves. If I do updates, I now do it on a test server before doing the same updates on my other servers.

I also have a personal script that I execute after updates to patch certain things to make life easier for me.

I have said this before that CyberPanel is now very unstable and this is due to untested updates, updates breaking basic functionality like on-server backups etc.

I no longer rely on CyberPanel’s backups and utilize my own scripts because to date, their server backups do not work and I’ve contacted them about it and they said it won’t be fixed in 2.4.4 and to try 2.4.5-dev. However: That installer does not work and sends you back to 2.4.4 so you are stuck with a broken system.

A system without backups is failure and for those who cannot work on alternative solutions are dead in the water as the Panel is supposed to make these things simple for them.

At this point, Cyberpanel is propped up by my scripts that make it work the way I need it to.
