I’ve officially reached my limit with CyberPanel. I tried installing version 2.4.4 on Ubuntu, and the experience has been a nightmare from start to finish. The installer fails at multiple points—sometimes due to missing dependencies. But this is just the tip of the iceberg.
After browsing forums and other user reports, it seems my experience isn’t unique. Here’s a summary of the recurring problems people face with CyberPanel:
Installation & dependency errors – The installer often fails due to missing packages, permission issues, or OS version incompatibilities. Many users spend hours just trying to get a basic installation working.
Panel freezes and crashes – Some report the panel freezing completely every week or two, taking websites and SSH access down with it.
Email server issues – Sending and receiving emails can be unreliable. TLS/STARTTLS errors are common, and the mail system often fails after updates.
Broken features after updates – WordPress auto-installer, backups, and other key functionalities sometimes break after recent updates, leaving users to fix things themselves.
Security concerns – There have been reports of code-level vulnerabilities that could put servers at risk.
I’ve wasted countless hours fighting errors, broken features, and insufficient documentation/support. CyberPanel is supposed to simplify server management, but in reality, it has been a source of endless frustration.
I’m done. I’m moving to alternatives that just work reliably, without constant troubleshooting. If you’re considering CyberPanel, be prepared: you might spend more time fixing the panel than managing your server.
