Cannot upgrade the openlitespeed to latest v. 1.9.0

CyberPanel is on the latest commit (just upgraded) but it shows that it is using openlitespeed 1.8.4. The new version ads much improvements and security enhances.

I tried via lsup.sh script but it broke everything and i restored the VM because was unable to restore its working state.

The current state is:

root@webserver-main:~# /usr/local/lsws/bin/lshttpd -v
LiteSpeed/1.8.4 Open (BUILD built: Tue Nov 4 13:44:54 UTC 2025)
        module versions:
        lsquic 4.3.1
        modgzip 1.1
        cache 1.66
        mod_security 1.4 (with libmodsecurity v3.0.14)

How to upgrade?

It’s better not to upgrade, CyberPanel isn’t yet compatible with the new LiteSpeed version, it will run unstably.

I understand your point but better to try since they have made a lot of improvements, at least i can have VM backup and if something goes wrong I can restore it back. Or make a snapshot.

The issue is that I can’t make it work or something in background is conflicting. So if anyone know how to do it please help.

/usr/local/lsws/admin/misc/lsup.sh -v 1.9.0

After the installation is complete, restart the service for the new version to take effect:

systemctl restart lsws
