Cannot Edit WordPress Theme

Hi,…

I host wordpress sites on a cyberpanel server.

I can update themes and plugins directly through the WP UI.

However, when I try to edit files of a wordpress theme, it returns following error:

“Unable to communicate back with site to check for fatal errors, so the PHP change was reverted. You will need to upload your PHP file change by some other means, such as by using SFTP.”

Any idea?

Thanks

How did you uploaded your WordPress site files? via SFTP via File manager for via FTP?

If via SFTP, you need to fix permissions from file manager so that correct permissions for files and folders are there.

I did, but it won’t work. The theme is downloaded from official WP themes repo btw

Did you try any other theme?

It seems the issue was conflicts between Plugins. Tested on default WP install and it works. Thanks
