Cannot Create v2 Backup - Rustic Backup Log Not Found

When I attempt to make a v2 backup, I receive an error that states “cat: /home/cyberpanel/site.com_rustic_backup_log: No such file or directory”. The backup never starts because it can’t find this log file.

I am running Ubuntu 22.04, the latest CyberPanel with LiteSpeed Enterprise as of March 6, 2024, and I have generated the rclone config file via the command line while authorizing a connection to my pCloud account. It is found in .config/rclone/rclone.conf

Where should this rustic_backup_log file be located?

How can I generate this log file and put it in the right place?

Perhaps on a related note, when I use FileZilla, I cannot access the ‘logs’ directory in the root. It says ‘Permission denied.’ Even though I’m on a VPS and am the only one with access to it. Could it be a permissions issue that is preventing the log from being generated and written to?

I searched on the forum and elsewhere online but couldn’t see anyone else with this problem, so I’d be happy to provide more info so that we can resolve it.

Thank you.

Same problem. Could somebody help to fix it please?

I never got a solution to this. And in my attempts to install Rustic and run my own backups, I borked my entire server. LiteSpeed and CyberPanel wouldn’t install properly again, even on a complete VPS reset, and I was forced to switch to Nginx and Virtualmin. Most problems have been resolved by switching, and my site is running fine, with backups through Virtualmin to Amazon S3. So for the time being, I’m done with CyberPanel.
