Hi, since 2017, I have been using VestaCP on my servers (a dozen) and lately both MyvestaCP and HestiaCP on all machines now running Debian 12, and honestly, I have never had any problems and they work like a charm…
Three days ago, I acquired two new servers and did not want to install Debian 12 on them (the maintainers of Myveste and Hestia clearly and honestly state on their forums that they do not have the resources to guarantee a quick update).
That’s why I decided to try Cyberpanel after reading in the official documentation that it supports Ubuntu 24.04 (which is equivalent to Debian 12).
Switching from Debian 12 to Ubuntu 24 already bothered me…
only to discover that from May to the end of October nothing positive had changed… and what’s more, Ubuntu 25.04 “Plucky Puffin”, released on 17th April 2025, and Ubuntu 25.10 “Questing Quokka”, released on 9th October 2025, are already out.
Personally, I disagree with Canonical’s policy of releasing one version per year (when years ago releases were quadrennial like the Olympics)…
Ubuntu 25 will certainly not be an LTS, but at least 24.4 should now be considered…
If you can’t keep up with the merry-go-round, I don’t blame you, in fact, I understand!
However, it’s not nice to write things that are completely false in official documents!
If the auto-installation script does not work with U24.4, you could have stated this clearly.
I wasted two days on fruitless attempts, time wasted.
You could have at least provided a detailed roadmap starting from U22
with clear step-by-step instructions (or clearly stated not to go beyond U22).
I would like to thank phonesocute, Maxwell and MennoGamed for confirming the actual situation…
Best regards and thanks to everyone.
