/tmp: FITRIM ioctl failed

The fstrim service is refusing to start because it reports the following about the /tmp device:

/sbin/fstrim --fstab --verbose
fstrim: /tmp: FITRIM ioctl failed: Structure needs cleaning

As /tmp is set up by Cyberpanel, I thought it was okay to post here. Any advice on how to fix this issue?

Thank you.

Is the solution to reboot in single user mode and run fsck.ext4 on the /tmp volume device?

I ended booting in DigitalOcean recovery mode, mounting the main disk and reformatting the /usr/.tempdisk with mkfs.ext4. Will have to wait to see if the corruption happens again.
