OpenLiteSpeed crashing every few days - Please Help!

Hello everybody,

I’ve ben using CyberPanel for two months now with low traffic and high traffic websites. This issue only seems to happen with high traffic websites, but it’s pretty annoying.

Every few days OpenLiteSpeed just crashes, website goes down, no outgoing traffic from the VPS anymore and can’t even connect from Putty to see whats going on. The only solutuion is to restart the server from the main panel.

Server is a 1GB VPS, CPU has never reached more than 20% and RAM tops at 65% during peak hours. I’ve seen other people having the same issue and it’s pretty annoying, sometimes the server goes down in the middle of the night.

Websites is a one page PHP script, very low on resources with about 22,000 visits per day.

Here are some of the last lines in the error log on CyberPanel:

2019-10-02 17:33:41.158864 [ERROR] [200.95.170.75:10096:HTTP2-5] Failed to create error resp body -1 1148.

And the OpenLiteSpeed error:

Our of Memory: Kill Process 1258 (litespeed) score 520 or sacrifice child [193910.890525] Killed process 1258 (litespeed) total-vm: 577276kb

Can someone help please? Any idea what might be causing this issue?

Hello,

It’s hard to see why it happens with so little information.

The ideal would be to see all the logs to see what happens, you say you can not connect to the server even by putty, that can be for 2 reasons.

1º) has no network
2º) is 100% saturated

The ideal would be to look at something munin type to install (http://munin-monitoring.org/) since it can be a cumulus of infinite processes.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion @thisjrodriguez.

I’ll install munin and wait for the next ocurrence, hopefully it will shed some light on what is causing this issue.

with 22k visit per day i think you should upgrade your VPS with more ram
