MX & TXT Records Not Propagating

I recently had to make changes to my CNAME, MX and TXT records to reflect email requirements from our new technology company for my organization. I made the changes using CyberPanel to my account this morning. The CNAME change propagated instantly but the MX and TXT records still have not propagated some 8 hours later. I know it can take time to propagate but I have done this several times with no problems at all. Also there are 150 other organizations making this migration today using other systems - all using the same CNAME, MX and TXT updates - none of them see to be having propagation problems. I’m wondering if I have done something wrong or if I’m just unlucky as being one of those who might have to wait 48+ hours to see the information propagate.

I’ve been checking to see if the information has updated using MXToolBox and DNSChecker. They both show the CNAME but no MX or TXT records as of yet.

The changes I have to make are coming from smarsh - I have had the smarsh people online looking at my DNS entries and all seems to be OK. Their fix - contact CyberPanel!!! In the meantime my entire office has NO EMAIL! Ouch.

Anybody have any ideas on what I can do other than wait??? Thanks so much.

can you please share where you are managing your DNS?

This issue was resolved, thank you for the reply! We’re having a separate issue with CNAME records that I’ll post in another topic.

share detials here so we can mark as solution.

Excellent suggestion, unfortunately the details might not be helpful. Our organization was required to migrate to a new secure mail service. Part of that migration was changing MX, TXT, and CNAME records on CyberPanel. There were issues with this (as described in the original post). After a couple of days of checking, double-checking, chatting with support, our organization email remained down. Someone suggested testing a total migration to a new web hosting service, which we did. That instantly fixed everything. All the records propagated immediately and all was good. In hindsight, it’s possible that we could have deleted the website on CyberPanel, rebuilt it, added all the records, and had the same result. But it was a bit of a panic mode and the suggested fix worked. We may still revisit the CyberPanel option sometime in the future. Thanks!
