LSMCD is it same like installing php memcached or need special configs?

in litespeed i found a plugin called LSMCD its related to memcached which im already installed and enabled through php in cyberpanel ,

so do i need to install this plugin , and what else than memcached it does?

It’s actually a memcached replacement with some enhanced feature
