What is the difference between the child page that is generated when registering a domain
To the one that can be done within the same domain (already activated of course)
If I can do it, I assign mail.mydomain.com
In itself, what differences would there be?

A child domain is a feture to create another domain website under the main domain website. The whole point of child domains was to address the issue of OLS handling of rewrite rules. OLS unlike LiteSpeed does not load .htaccess rules from just any other path thats where child domains shine.
For a hobbyist trying cyberpanel there is not really much difference as to how the website is managed. All the features of child domain website are accessible to the main domain website.
