I use Zorin OS which is a distro based off of Ubuntu.

I think you have answered your own question. An offshoot of Ubuntu is not Ubuntu, just like Ubuntu is an offshoot of Debian but is not Debian.

So there is no workaround?

The only workaround is to use a supported operating system Ubuntu 18 or 20 Centos 7 or 8.
