I have a user account with a limited space, e.g. 100MB
BUT
the user can have an email account with unlimited storage. It can be dangerous.
In my opinion, e-mail accounts should be in the domain directory to have limited capacity.
Now is :
domain - / home / [domain] - limited capacity
email - / home / vmail / [domain] - no restrictions

please make restrictions for individual mailboxes and the entire user account, i.e. website + e-mail.
just like in cPanel

yes, not only email. if you have set 100 MB storage user can upload more than 100MB size files there.

Hmm so if we adjusted the dovecot namespace so it stored the email folders in the domain owners home/directory like cPanel that would make those disk quota apply. since there is no suspension to prevent overuse though it seems like we should wait till the overuser and suspension options(Locking: prevent new files/suspending all activity with error) is implemented.

A cursory look into structuring the email under each user’s folder looks like it would be a huge undertaking and not really be very easy to convert existing accounts to it. It would probably be easier to just add an additional check in the disk calculations for the domains vmail folder and add it into the combined amount where its doing the others.

DNS errors such as temporary failure in name resolution can easily cripple your server. You will not be able to install any yum packages, you will even not be able to ping google.com, because as you can see this is a name resolution error
